Well Known As San Diego's Deep Tissue Massage Center.
Massage Techniques
Deep Tissue: One of the world's most well known massages and one we do best! Deep Tissue therapists look for shortened muscles and/or distorted postural patterns. With slow deep strokes, the therapist works to lengthen the muscle fibers, to restore balance, and to reestablish structural and functional integrity to the greatest degree possible for the client.
Swedish Massage: The main purpose of Swedish massage is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. Swedish massage shortens recovery time from muscular strain by flushing the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes. It increases circulation without increasing heart load.
Sports Massage: Sports Massage is used pre-event to warm and awaken muscles and to enable the athlete to train and perform more consistently at a higher level. It is also used post-event to drain fatigue, releive swelling, reduce muscle tension, promote flexibility, and to prevent injuries.
Pregnancy Massage: During pregnancy a woman's body undergoes many changes, some of them stressful and uncomfortable. Massage is a perfect way to reduce stress and promote general well-being. We will be using as many pillows and blankets as you need during your pregnancy massage. This modality will focus on relaxation and releif for specific areas of your body as you go through this amazing journey.
Geriatric Massage: Geriatric massage is a form of massage designed to meet the specific needs of the elderly population. It involves the use of hands to manipulate the soft tissues of the body to improve blood circulation, relieve pain, and increase range of motion. Active or passive movement of the joints may also be part of geriatric massage.
Reflexology: Reflexology, or zone therapy, is the practice of stimulating points on the feet, hands, or ears, so that it will have a beneficial effect on other parts of the body, or will improve general health. Reflexology can be used to help restore and maintain the body’s natural equilibrium. This extremely relaxing therapy encourages the body to work naturally to restore its own healthy balance.
Shiatsu: Shiatsu accesses the body's energy through specific points along meridians. It is based on Eastern principles also used in acupuncture, and helps the body in stretching, passive joint movement, and massage techniques using pressure that vary from light to deep. Shiatsu facilitates a renewal of energy flow throughout the system and a return to health.
